LAMBO-WB: Theoretically Inexpensive

The new warrant of Lambo Group Berhad (LAMBO-WB) made its debut on 7th May 2019.  The warrant was given free to shareholders of Lambo Group via a bonus issue of warrants on the basis of one free warrant for every two shares held on the entitlement date of 24thApril 2019.  A total of 1.051 billion warrants were issue and LAMBO-WB ended its first day of trade at 2.5 sen.  Lambo Group’s mother share closed at 9 sen on 7th May.

SUNSURIA-WA : Strong Selling Pressure

The share price of Sunsuria Berhad surged on 29th April to as high as 92 sen after the company announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Chinese logistics provider Sinotrans Limited (“Sinotrans”) to explore business opportunities in Smart Logistics Park and Business, as well as a Strategic Cooperation Agreement (SCA) with Chinese automotive design and engineering firm IAT Automobile Technology Co., Ltd (“IAT”) on ASEAN Automotive Design & Innovation Centre for product research & design, talent development and smart technology.  The agreements were formalised by Sunsuria executive chairman Tan Sri Ter Leong Yap, who joined the Malaysian delegation to the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing.  With renewed investors’ interest, Sunsuria also announced the price fixing for its upcoming private placement of up to 10% share capital at 70 sen for the first tranche.  The share price retreated  to close at 73 sen on 30th April 2019.

DWL: Switch to warrant for arbitrage gain

After being quiet for quite a while, DWL Resources Berhad (formerly known as Spring Gallery Berhad) attracted investors’ interest in the second week of this month ahead of some changes in shareholding and appointment of former CEO of Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar as its managing director on 19th April 2019.  DWL Resources also announced on 18th April that it has entered into a pre-bid consortium agreement with Gadang Holdings Berhad to jointly work together to bid for infrastructure projects and if successful, will jointly undertake a contract for such infrastructure works.  The share price of DWL Resources soared from 79 sen in the beginning of April to as high as RM2.00 on 23rd April before closing at RM1.70.  The company warrant (DWL-WA) and irredeemable convertible preference shares (DWL-PA) closed at 56 sen and 98 sen respectively on 23rd April.

EKOVEST-WB: Renewed Interest on ECRL revival

The share price of Ekovest Berhad and its warrant (EKOVEST-WB) surged in the middle of last week driven by market optimism over the possible revival of mega projects as Malaysia and China reached agreement to revive the East Coast Rail Link at a reduced cost of RM44 billion.  The share price of Ekovest rose to as high as 67.5 sen on 11th April 2019 before retreating to close at 57.5 sen on 16thApril.  The company warrant closed at 10.5 sen on 16th April after surging to as high as 19.5 sen a few days ago.

ALAM-WA: Good Run on Contract Award

The company warrant of Alam Maritim Resources Berhad (ALAM-WA) made its debut at Bursa Malaysia on 29th March 2019.  This warrant was given free to shareholders based on 1 warrant for every 2 shares held on the entitlement date of 22nd March 2019.   The share price of Alam Maritim rose 26% to 14.5 sen on 2nd April with volume surging to more than 55 million shares after the company announced that it has secured a USD59 million contract for the procurement, construction and installation of a pipeline system.  This led to the new company warrant surging to as high as 7 sen on 2nd April which was double the closing price of 3.5 sen on the first day of trading two days ago.  Alam Maritim mother share and ALAM-WA closed at 13 sen and 6 sen respectively on 9th April 2019.
