RSENA-WA: hangs in the balance

Red Sena Berhad, the only Special Purpose Acquisition Company ("SPAC”) left on Bursa Malaysia, is entering its final year where a qualifying acquisition (QA) must be made.  The company has until 10 December 2018 to conclude a QA.  The share price of Red Sena, which plunged 25% from its IPO price of 50 sen on the first day of trade, has slowly recovered over the past two years as yield investors bought the shares on the cheap hoping to make a risk-free return by voting against the QA and seek a return of capital.  The company warrant RSENA-WA which was given free to IPO subscriber on a one for one basis has seen its price dropped from the high achieved in the initial days of listing to as low as 4 sen in October before closing at 5.5 sen at the close on 29 November 2017.  Red Sena mother share price ended trading the same day at 46 sen.
